I love manga, but I also like reading other things, say like historical romance novels. Sure, I know some people might say they're tacky but hey, I like them and I find them entertaining :).

So, for any other posters out here who like historical romances, do guys have any recommendations? I prefer historical romances that are set in the 1700s-1800s, and aren't heavy on the spies, murder, and general treachery found in a lot of historical romance novels.

If you know any books that fit that criteria, I'd really appreciate it if you'd post them, and if you can give your own opinion on the book.

Oh, and I'd really appreciate it if anyone can recommend gender bender historical romance novels.

Thanks a bunch!

Oh, nice to know you. I am also a reader of historical romance. Have you read the newest book by Julia Quinn: What happens in London? It's really funny and romantic. Really hilarious and witty. I guess I've been a fan of Julia Quinn since the Bridgerton series but I found her books outside the Bridgerton series not as good. This new book though show that Julia Quinn still a romance writer to be reckoned with.

What's your fav authors? Mine is Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Lynn kurland, Celeste Bradley, heemmmm... who else... Judith mcnaught, carla kelly, julie garwood, and sherry thomas.

A gender bender story...have you read the Switch bny Lynsay Sands? or Seduced by Virginia Henley. From this Moment On by Lynn Kurland (This one is set in medieval times though). The Spy by Celeste Bradley.
Those are the titles I remember where the heroine pretend to be a man in the story.

Oh, I'm a fan of Julia Quinn. I especially enjoyed her Bridgerton series, although my favorite happens to be the one about Colin and Penelope.

I've read most of the authors you've mentioned, with the exception of Sherry Thomas. Lately, I've been reading a lot of the older works of Joan Wolf. I know she's more the regency type, but lol, I enjoy that genre of historical romance.

As for the gender bender stories, yes, I've read all of those. But I enjoyed the Switch and From this Moment On the most out of those four. If you can recommend any other books that are of the same field as those two, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt :yay:
I highly recommend this book. I truly enjoyed this book. It was one of the best book I have read. The storyline is a different and new historical romance tale. The story was set in the late 1700s and the characters are interesting and intelligent. Elizabeth did a awesome job of building the tension between the couple. Also, the love scenes is really cute. :ihihi:
